Ron Darling commented that both Cain and Bumgarner looked tired.  Perhaps he is correct after that long 2010 season, and now after two more full seasons where these guys did not miss a start.  I like Belt's approach, and I think he will ocntinue to improve.  Bronson A. showed what one could do without much velocity on his fastball.  Showing that control, movement, and smarts are better than velocity.   Cain's hanging curve to Phillips really annoyed me, as I really love to watch Cain pitch, but that pitch with two strikes on the hitter, was so unwise.

Scutaro has not come up big in the playoffs despite hitting line drives.  He has yet to get a hit, after a 20 game hitting streak to end the season.  Pagan is not doing so great either.   Perhaps Belt should bat second.   Anyway, if they were not going to  win the first series than the Melky decision does not matter, but if they win the first series, it would be nice to have Melky back.  All this could have been moot hat the Giants just re-signed Beltran.  St. Louis continued to play Beltran who was on fire the first half of the season, even though he was ailing.  The giants probably would have rested him. However, Beltran is coming back to health and is shows.  Too bad the giants did not sign him. It would be nice to have him now.  Pence hit about 220 and yet had 45 RBI with the giants.  If he hit 300 he probably would have had over 60, as the giants gave him opportunity after opportunity to drive in runs.  I like the way the guy gives it 100 percent effort, but I am just not sure that he is much of an answer. Let him prove me wrong.   Where is Cody Ross, and Edgar Renteria when you need them.

Ha. Great first line. I was talking to my brother today, and I uttered almost an identical line. He texted it to me after: "How exciting is this playoffs...for Cincinnati." (And, how the hell do you spell that city? I had to use spell check.).

Nothing's changing. This is our team, and Mustachio has made the same decisions all year long. I actually see Belt sitting (game four) before he hits fifth, which segues perfectly to the only real surprise, which is Zito starting game four. Wow. Wow. Wow.

Let's just hope they get one. One could turn in to two, and two could possibly turn in to three! Come on, boys!

I'd like to see Belt moved up to third, and Sandoval down to fifth.

Sandoval's OBP (.342) is closer to Scutaro's (.348) than Belt's (.360). Shockingly, Sandoval/Belt are almost identical in OPS (.789/.781), so ultimately we might end up with the 3rd hitter getting on base a few more times, and the 5th hitter smacking a few more doubles.

I like the idea of Sandoval hitting doubles while Belt is on base.
