Just two starts ago, on 8/3, @ Colorado, Vogelsong gave up 4 ER in 6.1 innings. So he was one shy of tying the quality start streak for the Giants. I think they mentioned this in the telecast after that game in Colorado, too.

Sure, Let's send Tim to Japan for 3 years.

Also, this is really stupid that my Bay City Ball account cannot be used to comment with. What was the point of forcing me to create it then?

Vogelsong seems to be able to do something that Tim has yet to learn.  He can be intense on every pitch, with serious concentration, and yet he does it without being tense or tentative.  His stuff may not be as good as Lincecum's but his concentration is better than Cain's.  It seemed as if the one inning lack of concentration used to kill guys like Tomko, who had great stuff, would pitch 3 or 4 good innings, and then give up 3 or 4 runs in the fourth, and then pitch 2 or 3 more good innings.   What Vogelsong has done is keep his concentration.  In the Denver game he went 6 strong, and then I think the high altitude and the non humidor balls got to him in the 7th,  Now that he pitched in a park where the oxygen pressure is normal. he was back to being the ERA leader Vogelsong that he is.  His ability to be intense and mentally in the zone, is all mental.  I wish some of it would rub off on Timmy and Zito.  Perhaps lately Cain too.

It bears mentioning that without Vogelsong, Jonathan Sanchez isn't expendable and the Giants don't trade him for Melky Cabrera. We owe him a lot for what his presence has done for the team.

I am amazed you were able to incorporate one of the oldest LARP videos on the internet into a baseball blogpost.  Hats off.
