I do not think Brown will be our starting CF in 2013.

In defense of Gary Brown I will suggest that he has moved up a notch in the minors and will need some time to adjust to the new pitchers and the uptick in the talent level.  The guy can beat out infield grounders and turn bunts into singles; he can cover that huge expanse in the SF outfield.  I still see Brown as the Gigantes' leadoff hitter and Gold Glove winner in 2013 or 2014...

I would note that Cain was also held out as a precaution in his first season as a pro, though, of course, unlike Osich, he had no history of arm troubles, at least that I can remember.

If the giants were half as good as your amazing

piece of analysis, they would be in much better

shape, unfortunately it has been the year of

the prospect disappointment. Unfortunately,

Zack Wheeler, is looking great.

Thanks, Scott. Yeah, I thought about including a "should have made the list" section. Blackburn would have definitely made it.

@Chris Quick Blackburn was one vote away from making the list!

@oldjacket Yep. You and Chris M. get all the credit for that one.

@Chris Quick Heston might also merit some attention. Old for his level, but he's carving up AA to a degree that probably merits questions of when he will be promoted to Fresno.

Yeah, the performance of the top prospects has been really disappointing so far. Luckily, Clayton Blackburn is looking good and at this point looks like one of the top 5 prospects in the system. Along with Stratton and Crick, the farm system is beginning to rebuild the pitching side. Outside of Joseph, though, the hitting looks ugly. Nice recap!
