I greatly love Rich Aurilia, but I am reasonably sure that his 2001 season had a little under the counter help. I don't think (and hope not) that Melky is getting any extra help this year, I think he worked hard in the off-season in response to criticisms that he didn't work hard enough or take enough care of his body.

Lets go back to 1958 when Mays had 208 hits. Always

have to include Willie.

Great point. Eight home runs sounds like a reasonable guess.

How many home runs would you add on for the rest of the season? If he hits 8 then even with a babip of .300 the rest of the season he can make 200 hits.

I wasn't a fan of the trade for Melky.  I thought it was kinda "meh" and buying high, but it's pretty clearly a big win for Sabean and Co.  I know it's still early, but this one seems in the bag.

 @marcello 25.1 IP, 25 H, 19 R, 19 ER, 22 BB, 18 SO, 6.75 ERA. That's Sanchez's stats, btw.

@Chris Quick @marcello How can you complain at Sanchez's stats, They are Lincecum-esque, and Lincecum is a 20 million dollar a year pitcher.

 @Chris Quick So, you're saying I need to wait another month before declaring a winner?
