Also, there was a pitcher named Urban Shocker.

I think a better way to order that grouping of pitchers would have been based off of winning percentage at the very least. I know what you were going for, but the number of wins can also be influenced by how many starts the pitcher made regardless of how unlucky he is. Both ways of ordering make the same point, but winning percentage would make it a little more accurate in my opinion. Also, it would show that Cain is the only pitcher in that group with a losing record.

Does Pagan ever get a good read/jump and take a good route? I haven't watched him long, but he consistently seems, to my eyes, to freeze and get slow jumps on everything hit his way.

Re. Cain, my query is this: if most thinking baseball fans agree that "pitcher wins are stupid," then why are we so concerned with pitcher wins in this case? We watched Cain pitch yesterday and know he was outstanding. Our advanced metrics confirm this, so Cain's skill as a pitcher is not in doubt. He's really, really good. Many of us argued vociferously that King Felix deserved the Cy Young in 2010, despite holding a 13-12 record, and we rejoiced when he won. So why do we care that Cain got screwed out of a win?

Interesting that on Mays birthday, the birthday of the man with the best outfield routes of all time,

the  no decision went to Cain with two outs and two strikes  to a former giant, who hit a catchable

liner to center.  Bad jump, and bad route, cost Cain another victory.  Cain and Dempster this year

have to be the no luck pitchers of the first 20 plus games.  Every inning the giants failed to extend

the lead you could feel this coming.  An error, and a poorly played flyball cost Cain the win.   The man

is just jinxed.  He is pitching as good, and even better than the 5-1 Bumgarner.  Lopez who has given

up almost as many hits in 4 innings as Cain has in over 40 innings, is now 3-0.   So therefore I put

foreward a motion, that when it comes to Cain and the Hall of Fame  wins and losses should not be

considered. Pagan's poor routes are not unexpected.  He is what he is.  Good speed, good contact,

less than average power, but to butcher a play like that in centerfield on Willie's birthday is blasphemy!
