What makes this even worse is just watching the catcher. He takes a huge stride and a little hop to set up well off the plate. And even then has to reach way over to his right foot to make the catch. Might have a little closer when it passed Rowand, but you could fit at least 2, maybe 2 1/2 more home plates between the edge of the plate, and where the catcher caught the ball.
Can you imagine what would happen if Rowand had to face Romo? I'm pretty sure Rowand could press assault charges after that AB.
If the giants pitch him, they probably will groove him a fastball right in his wheelhouse. Just throw him slider after slider outside. The Marlins may have made the typical giants mistake. Rowand hit nicely vs the fish, so they signed him.

It was seriously my 2nd happiest moment as a Giants fan ever when I heard they released Rowand... what an awful baseball player... wont move from CF? is that b/c you're the only one who doesn't know how much you stink on defense? won't adjust your swing as requested by giants brass? is that b/c you've been doing such a grrreeat job hitting the last few years? think it's your situation that's not allowing you to succeed? whatever helps you sleep at night buddy.
The only thing that could make it more Rowand is if he watched a fastball go right down the middle on the next pitch.
