Not related, but WOW Cody Ross has now managed to flail his way down to being a replacement level player for 2011. 400 PA into the season and he's now given us the same value as Conor Gillaspie. That's not good! Still better than Huff, but not good.

Does he drive in runs, hit the long ball, maybe bat better than .200 which seems the going rate for most of the veterans (see Ross, Huff, et al.) this August? Even the Giants are proving the old adage wrong that nothing beats good pitching.....because anything can beat GREAT pitching if you don't score. Unlike the NFL, a great defense can't save an inept offense by "scoring".

I went temporarily blind last night after watching the Giants struggle through another game....having regained my vision its nice about the young pitcher and I am going straight to the Wynn to purchase next year's NLCS future....but this team is cooked, fried, Kaput...and shutout, hell he could toss a no-hitter and lose with this line-up.

I'm surprised Andrew Baggarly doesn't have this on his blog yet, considering he has been speculating that it could happen any day now seemingly once a week since June.

throw a shutout or lose, kid.

He could throw a shutout AND lose. It would be a good initiation.

Are you saying Eric Surkamp is going to lead to some oil cans getting shot?
