Stewart should just let the runners steal the bases ... Seems like there would be less damage that way.

no problem with Lopez pitching to Nady especially with left hand hitting Parra up next.

I agree 100% with the Cain opinion. Every one of the hits in the 6th were smoked. He should not have started the 7th. Especially after the first batter gets a double. I understand giving him a shot, but get someone ready in case he doesn't have it! Bochy deserves leeway, but his bullpen usage could really use some help. The only reason I can see that Bochy left Lopez in to face Nady was that there was a lefty on deck.

All good insights, Chris. I am a long-time Giants fan from the Philly area so I don't get to see many games. How did the Panda look?

You're forgetting the bunt by Burriss in the 3rd inning. Why give the pitcher 1 out on 1 pitch for free (especially after a 5 pitch walk) early in the game with the heart of your lineup coming up? It's highly unlikely he would have hit into a DP... and you know what, he might have singled like he did in his first at-bat. Bochy and his potential rally killing bunts early on are starting to wear me down. Bunting at the top of your lineup is only needed in late/tight games when 1 run is absolutely essential. Also... Batting Whiteside/Stewart 9th is a more logical move. 2 pitcher at bats plus 2 pinch hitter at bats would ultimately be more productive than 4 at bats by a Giants' catcher. Especially since 3 of the 5 Giants' starting pitchers are decent hitters.

Also, why bat Burriss second if he is not good enough to swing the bat in that situation?

there's really nobody more Burrellish than Burrell.

I think Kuiper was making that same expression during the game. (Probably for different reasons).

Has Pat Burrell even swung the bat in his last 10ABs? Feel like we still have the "world series" pat burrell.. striking out looking 50% of the time.

I would add to #1: The bullpen/team also had an off-day yesterday. I concur that the Stewart move was ridiculous. However, I'd rather see him catching 75-80% of the time, if the alternative is Whiteside. It's amazing that Bochy's loyalty flaws even extends to a career backup catcher who hasn't even played 100+ games in a season in 9 years... when he was an A/AA player.
