Lots of time for all to be fixed. We are not with the whole team yet, few out on dl but that also will work out. I am in step with the outfield must defend. Pitching is done with a good defense and as wrote, our team is pitching. Sounds as though we have a lot of talent in the minors that fits that mold. now lets us all thank the GM for all the good prospects!! "GO GIANTS"

I wish the Giants would just stick Natey Nate in right field for 300 PA's and see what he can do. He's never really had an extended "look" and as a long time Giants fan that is very frustrating. I think Nate could be a league average hitter and with his defense and base running hew would be a solid contributor.

I'm not sure I'll buy on Nate being a league average hitter. His swing (to my untrained eyes) looks pretty long and each year his excellent minor league numbers seem further, and further away. I think ZiPS has him projected at a wRC+ of 90 -- meaning he's 10% worse than your league average hitter -- and that seems about right. His defense and baserunning are nice assets to have, for sure. I think he makes sense in 'right now' for a flyball inducing team like the Giants. I would probably let Burrell sit on the bench, move Huff to LF and let Nate play RF. You lose some offense, but outfield defense feels way too important for this team. It seems odd that the Giants have this weird idea of what makes a good outfield work. They couldn't stop playing Guillen (a terrible outfielder) last season and they always shifted Torres around when Rowand was in CF. You'd think the team would realize that Torres in CF = good, Guillen/Huff in RF = bad.

We won't know what Nate can truly do until he is actually given a real chance. His swing doesn't look that long to me. Though he struggled in '10 his walk rate increased (5.9% to 8.0%) and his strikeout rate decreased (18.8% to 12.3%) from '09. Those are two good signs.

At least Huff only assaults my eyes out there on the odd occasion. Nate swings like a blind Glenallen Hill on a segway every freakin' AB! Do I really have to watch that 4 or 5 times a day just because Huff played the Dodger series on roller skates?

I wrote about Nate's total value recently, that he MIGHT hit... in addition to his other tools. I'm not sure I believe that. Not sure why I even wrote he MIGHT hit at all. His minors numbers are so far away... Their kind of like a helium balloon thats floating away, but you can't really even see it because the sun is burning a hole in your retina. And the way his at bats LOOK? Well, down and in breaking stuff is death to him like down and away sliders to Rowad... not supposed to be that way for left-handed hitters. Still, I wonder if Chris is right: maybe the offense they're trading for D right now, is not enough.

Not many can get an out-loud laugh out of me while reading baseball junk -- Posnanski can, Grant of McC can, a great compliment to both of them -- but you just got me with "blind Glenallen Hill on a Segway." I'm actually somehow now pleased about the events of the weekend, provided they don't continue to the extent they did the past four days, because I otherwise would not have had the privilege of reading that brilliant sentence.
