NLDS Roster Set, No Zito or Guillen.

Both Barry Zito and Jose Guillen get left off the roster. It’s a good move for the Giants. Though, I was worried about Guillen.

OUTIELDERS (5): Pat Burrell, Cody Ross, Aaron Rowand, Nate Schierholtz, Andres Torres

My stab at the projected starting lineup tonight.

1. Torres, CF
2. Sanchez, 2B
3. Huff, 1B
4. Posey, C
5. Burrell, LF
6. Uribe, SS
7. Sandoval, 3B
8. Ross, RF
9. Pitcher

They may opt to leave Sandoval hitting 8th. Ross is 3-10 (1 2B, 3 BB, 2 K) lifetime against Lowe.

Great move by the G-men leaving Zito and Guillen off the roster... how exactly were these guys going to help the team win even one game during this series? Would've even liked to have seen them leave Rowand and Schierholtz off for Ford, but I might be in the minority on that one...

Chris, your thoughts on Affeldt versus Runzler? Affeldt never deserved that extension after his lucky 2009. Isn't it more important to use the more effective reliever, 1, and the more effective reliever versus LHB, 2, given the McCann and Heyward factor. Runzler: k/9 versus lefty 10.22 versus 8.50; Bb/9 3.65 vs. 5.5; HR/9 0 vs. .50. Affeldt has 7 point GB% but the Giants' strength is OF. Runzler BABIP versus lefty is .385, too...
