OK, I getcha. I was imagining the plot from the pitcher's POV, not the batter's. If I picture Bengie standing on the left (negative numbers) side and facing "into the page" I see it! Thanks. I really like what you do with these plots--I keep telling myself that one of these days I'll start monkeying around with the pitchf/x data. Then I visit your site and get a healthy dose of it and think "ah, maybe later!" :-)

Mark, What do you mean by mirror-images? I just want to make sure I understand the Q before I answer it. On the graphs, the vantage point is from behind homeplate. Negative numbers = the area where RHB's stand. Postive numbers = the area where LHB's stand.

These are groovy, Chris. But I have to ask a dumb question--they are a mirror-images, right? I mean, Molina's ball was outside to him, +1 being AWAY from a RH batter, no?
