I don’t even want to get started on the handling of Tim.

So I’ll say Velez in L.F. kind of makes a guy appreciate what Pete Happy did with his time there. It’s also the kind of move the Giants should be trying in this kind of a season. If Velez can get to not being a liability out there it will give them some roster flexibility next year. From were I sit Velez is probably competing to the pinch runner job with Roberts if every once if healthy next season. Being able to plug an OF and INF spot would be an advantage for him – if he could get to that point with a glove.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen less responsible handling of a pitcher. Even if Lincecum wants to throw like this doesn’t mean he should. Losing Lincecum would set this franchise back years, and the very thought of it makes me shudder. If I was Sabean I’d be shutting him down, not adding to his workload.

Also, I have no confidence in Velez defensively anywhere on the field. He would have been in the minors all year if this time had any depth.
