“You big dummy!”
Hot off the Baggs Press:
The Giants held a summit and decided Tim Lincecum will make two more starts instead of one after tonight’s outing against Arizona’s Randy Johnson.
That plan wouldn’t change even if Lincecum fails to win No. 18 tonight, which would end any chance of being the Giants’ first 20-game winner since 1993.
Lincecum will start on regular rest Tuesday and start the season finale against the Dodgers on Sept. 28. Bochy acknowledged the move was motivated in part to end the season on a solid note — something that could make a difference for season-ticket holders on the fence about renewing.Limcecum is bound to lead the NL in pitches thrown, but Bochy said the Giants wouldn’t be doing this if they had any concerns about his arm. The summit included Bochy, GM Brian Sabean and trainer Dave Groeschner.
Oh, great. I’m glad this team is making it’s decisions based on selling some more season tickets next year. As if one more Lincecum start would sell more tickets anyways. This is bone-headed, stupid, short sighted, and just plain ‘ole dumb.
Fred Sanford is pissed.
