No matter how often I saw him, he always had something new and insightful comedy routine, unlike some younger guys who repeated their schtick ad nauseum on the TV rounds.  I still find it hard to believe he started out in comedy doing the straight routine, and did it for years, before hitting with his subversive comedy.

I always got a covert giggle seeing him do Thomas the Tank Engine when my son was growing up.  I can&#039;t wait to play for my son some of Carlin&#039;s comedy routines.

May he rest in peace!  And the drug of his choice, natch!  Truly, one of the greats!</description>
