No matter how often I saw him, he always had something new and insightful comedy routine, unlike some younger guys who repeated their schtick ad nauseum on the TV rounds. I still find it hard to believe he started out in comedy doing the straight routine, and did it for years, before hitting with his subversive comedy. I always got a covert giggle seeing him do Thomas the Tank Engine when my son was growing up. I can't wait to play for my son some of Carlin's comedy routines. May he rest in peace! And the drug of his choice, natch! Truly, one of the greats! He was one of the best ever!
