Site Update - Spam Issues

Chris » 07 December 2006 » In Off Topic »

Recently spammers have started to spam the comments section of Bay City Ball. Even though I know that all of the readers are very interested in finding out about lower mortage rates and discount deals on Cialis I’ve decided to enact a couple of measures to stop the spam.

  1. Only registered users can post in the comments sections. Registering is free and easy and helps stop spammers from junking up the discussions on how terrible Marvin Bernard actually was.

  2. I turned on a spam filtering service that is supposed to detect certain combinations of words in comments and hold that comment back for moderation. This is more of an experiment than anything and hopefully I’ll have no problems with it. If for some reason your comments aren’t getting through just shoot me an email and I’ll look into it.

Finally, I would just like to thank those who visit and read this site. The spam is a indication that Bay City Ball is starting to show up in search engines and is gradually becoming heard of.
